J.J's Wedding

My cousin J.J. (Jesse James) just returned home from a mission to Italy just last November.  In no time he was engaged to the girl he dated before he left.  We soon received the invitation and thought this was the perfect time to go visit our family in Arizona and plus, we're about due for a road trip.  So off we went....

Our route....Hwy 89, the scenic route.  And scenic it was.  We passed through quaint little towns littered with farmlands, mom & pop shops and my favorite....the competing Rock Shops.  In less than a block you can visit up to 4 different shops to find whatever color, shape and size rock you heart desires.

This particular picture I took while we we're cloud gazing, spotting all sorts of things.  This cloud we both looked at and saw a luck dragon but by the time I could get my camera out and take the picture, Barry decided to start cloud bursting.  :)  So this is what remains of our luck dragon.
We stopped to stretch our legs at the Glen Canyon Dam.  Lake Powell looked SO inviting!
Just looking at the dam bridge which makes your eyes go funny.
Barry and the boys on the bridge looking WAY down.  The boys love bridges and railroad tracks.  They point them out every time they see them.
Walking off the bridge.
Kael pointing at an airplane flying by.
Kael looking across the fountain.

Some great pics of little Koey
He has such a cherubic face......especially when he sleeps.
We made it to Mesa!  When we got in the room, the boys were trying to figure out whose room it was.
(Koen) "This is Daddy's and Mommy's room."
(Kael) "No, it's Kael and Koen's room."
(this went back and forth a few times, each changing their answer as to whose room it was)
So we let them know we were all sharing a room.  They loved being able to stay up past their bedtime and even watch TV while being in bed at the same time.  What a great concept!
Koen snuggling up in the covers.
At the Mesa Temple waiting for J.J. and Aimee to get dressed and come out.

Gina!  We miss cousin Gina since she went back home in February.
Little Mia.  She is such a tomboy and loaded with imagination.  And above all she is adorable!
Goofin' off with Uncle Bubba while still waiting....

Kael doing a silly run
Kael out climbing trees to pass the time.  He climbs the trees in our yard at home all the time.
Sideways....sorry, still can't figure this out.
Koen's turn to climb....he doesn't go as high though, just a safe distance up.
Taking group pics
The Marziale's  (Monica, Angie, J.J., Danielle, and Gina)
Half of the bridesmaids wore these "lovely" yellow dresses and the other half wore bright orange and black dresses.  The wedding colors were yellow, burnt orange and gold????
The Mesa Temple.  Looks very close to the Hawaii temple.  It was beautiful.
Even though it was "Spring" weather in Mesa it was still over 90 degrees.  We were coming from the 60's so we hadn't built up a tolerance to the heat so it felt scorching.
Koen playing in the water.
Ha!  I got Kael without him making a face!  YAY!
Staying cool in the shade.
We went from the temple to a luncheon (also outside) that they included another ring ceremony.  Finally went to the hotel and had the boys take naps because they were starting to get cranky from playing and running around with their cousins all day.  Then off to the reception.  We arrived at the reception and in less than 5 minutes the boys located the swing set.  Kael swinging.
After throwing down some cake, getting some good swing and slide time in.  Hitting the tramp we headed over to the dance floor!
These boys got some moves!  Kael being a little camera shy.
Dancin' with Kael
Kael showing off some serious grooves along with cousin Dani
We had a great visit aside from the fact that Barry came home with heat stroke and Koen fell and scraped his eyelid.  We enjoyed every minute of it and already we miss the Marziale's!  Hope to see you guys soon!
We left for home Sunday morning after making a last stop for hugs and treats.

We made a stop just off Hwy 89-A which is the more scenic route to the scenic route.  My family stopped at this very place when we rented an R.V. and traveled through the Grand Canyon and down the PCH to visit my late Great Aunt and Uncle in Orange, CA.  We took some great pictures with all the kids and my mom.  So when we needed to make a stop to stretch our legs, I knew just the spot!

Koen also had to use the bathroom so Barry went looking for a big rock with him.
Barry took him behind the biggest rock we could find and told him to go potty.  Koen walked around the rock and was confused and said there was no potty.  We just laughed and told him to "just pee on the rock."  He looked at the rock, then looked at us like we were crazy.  So I proposed they go on the bush which seemed like a better target for both of them.
I saw this view and started laughing and Barry just looked at me and said....
"You're going to take a picture aren't you"
I just nodded yes while still laughing and snapped!  Barry just stood in the back ground shaking his head at me.   LOL!  I love it!  Besides, every parent is required to have blackmail pictures....

Kael, deep in thought.
