Well, Happy Birthday to my baby cabooses! My little guys are now 4 years old! I can't believe it. Every phase has been just awesome and packed full of fun.
I miss cuddling in the middle of the night with a baby in each arm. I miss passing by their crib to see them snuggled together.......*and they still do* I miss strapping one baby on front and one on my back as we would do various things. I miss being stopped in stores every ten minutes by people who've never met them, yet instantly love them *including 2 modeling agents*. I miss hearing their baby talk as they discover the world around them and teach one another how to roll, crawl, walk and much more.
What a blessing it is to have TWO beautiful children together. They rarely ever fight and when they do we remind them how lucky they are, not everyone is born with a best friend. Now that my babies are turning into little boys I LOVE wrestling, coloring, watching movies, cooking, cleaning reading and learning with them. I was able to stay at home with them their first 2 1/2 years of their life and still have not spent one night away from them. Raising Kael and Koen has truly been a magical and rewarding experience and Barry and I feel honored to have been given this responsibility.
We love you Kael and Koen, Happy Fourth Birthday!
I forgot to take pictures of all the fun food I made so this is a shot that shows some of it....and AIDAN!
These were so fun to make and were a BIG hit. Marshmallows on a Popsicle stick, dipped in chocolate and rolled in various things....i.e. rainbow sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, toffee bits, and crushed graham crackers.
Since I was going to have over a dozen kids over I figured it'd be best to keep the party outside. The less boys IN the house the less mess.....and it worked! We set up a giant slip-n-slide on top of a pool cover with a kiddie pool so they could slide, dip and splash wherever their little hearts desire.
Ben, mid slide....
Part of the backyard fun-ivities!
Aidan, sliding into the tunnel.
....giving me the instant replay....
Since Aidan is camera shy, I don't know why my boys are, I caught him and held him down so I could finally get some pictures of him.
Believe it or not, these pics of us were hard to get since he would only look at the camera for a split second before he would look away and laugh. Thanks to Barry for the quick trigger button on the camera.
LOVE YOU HONEY!!
Aidan taunting uncle Reed.
Some of our party go-ers as they wait for cake and a surprise guest.....
The two boys on the right are the other set of identical boys in the neighborhood. They are a year older and SO CUTE!!
ALAS! The masked superhero has arrived!
Kael (on left) and Koen are gathering their thoughts on this. Hmmmm..... another character in costume.... Another case of being star struck.
The kids LOVED seeing Batman! They stood around him asking questions while some, mainly Aidan, kept taking shots at him while he wasn't looking and later challenged him to a fight.
Every time Batman got close to the twins they would shy away. Koen would hide his head in his arms and Kael ducked under the table. It was pretty funny.
I had HUGE plans for the cakes but when it all came down to it, I didn't want to make myself crazy, especially after making ALL the other food, I just kept it simple with two round, yellow cakes with the batman symbol on top.
time to blow out the candles
Since the birthday boys were shy around the superhero, I had him sneak in from behind while they were eating their cake so we can at least get a shot of them with Batman. It's pretty funny, they were so excited all week as they saw me making all sorts of Batman crafts, decorations and food, but when it came time to meet the man himself.......they run and hide..... LOL
Batman took some time to pose with some of the kids too! This is Dylan.
Batman and his spawn, Jackson, who looks like he's done so many of these gigs that he'd rather be out fighting crime instead of making appearances at kids birthday parties.
Clixie-Brooke
Aidan
Ben or Mason....not sure. Only one of the twins wanted their picture taken.
Gavin
Asher
Gage
Hudson
Baby Jace! Before today he'd never known the Superhero but instantly they became buddies.
From the look of this it would seem they were old college roommates, or a crime-fighting duo...
.....either way, their spreading the love....
Kimmy.....I DID tell her I made party favors for everyone, but I think she misunderstood and took Batman home for herself!
Yeah.......... I'm that tough. And I'm not even flexing......
Presents!
Thanks to everyone who came and helped make this birthday so memorable!
